Top 3 Blockchain Events Planned for 2022

Blockchain technology is all about the community. In recent years, the community has been compelled to meet virtually. Many of the industry’s biggest events and conferences were called off due to travel restrictions. Now, events are back in full swing.

With Art Basel Miami ongoing, it may be time to book ahead for some of the biggest crypto events coming up in the new year. Here’s a look at the top three biggest digital asset conferences planned for 2022.

Bitcoin Miami 2022

Dated: June, 2022

Location: Miami, United States

Miami has quickly become a hub for blockchain development and digital asset investments. The city’s mayor, Francis Suarez, has taken a uniquely proactive approach to help this industry migrate to his city. A key part of his strategy is the annual Bitcoin Miami conference organized by Bitcoin Magazine.

This upcoming event will feature Square’s CEO Jack Dorsey, crypto veteran Nick Sabo, and the billionaire co-founder of Microstrategy Michael Saylor. It also features Tony Hawk, for some reason. Passes start at $499 and go all the way up to $20,000.

Miami’s reputation as a crypto hub is bolstered by this annual conference. The city is considering a unique token for itself that could generate a “Bitcoin dividend” to its citizens. Meanwhile, the Florida state legislature is also embracing the sector, with a new bill that would allow businesses to pay the government in cryptocurrencies.

Token 2049

Dated: May / October 2022

Location: London and Singapore

Unlike Bitcoin Miami, Token 2049 is much broader – both in terms of location and focus. The conference is being held in both Singapore and London. Speakers, meanwhile, will focus on fundamentals of blockchain technology, the future of decentralized finance, non-fungible tokens and play-to-earn platforms. Essentially, the conferences encompass the entire digital assets industry, not just Bitcoin.

Speakers at the London conference include AAVE CEO Stani Kulechov, Galaxy Digital’s Mike Novogratz and Blockchain.Com co-founder Nic Cary. Meanwhile the Singapore event features heavyweights such as FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried, Messari’s CEO Ryan Selkis and Crypto.com’s CEO Kris Marszalek.

Consensus

Dated: June 9th – 12th, 2022

Location: Austin, TX

Coindesk’s Consensus conference is one of the biggest in the industry. Last year’s event was scattered across the world due to travel restrictions. One panel was even held in space. This year, however, the conference goes back to its original format and will be held in Austin, Texas.

The agenda includes panels on “blockchain, crypto, NFT, and Web 3 ecosystems, and their wide-reaching effect on commerce, culture, and communities.” FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried (again), SoFi’s head of investment strategy Liz Young, Hut 8 Mining’s CEO Jaime Leverton, Global Coin Research founder Joyce Yang and Edward Snowden are all expected to speak at the 2 day conference.

Early adopter tickets are now on sale at $649.
